Cardinal Flower (Lobelia cardinalis)
Named for its beautiful scarlet red flowers which are an important nectar source for hummingbirds and swallowtail butterflies. The blooms last for several weeks. Great for the garden or wetland planting. Short-lived perennial that self-seeds. Grows 2-3' feet tall.
