Joe Pye Weed - Common (Eupatorium maculatum)
Tall plants, up to 6', with strong stems that are almost the same color as the dusty rose-colored flowers. Blooms for many weeks in July and August. Flower nectar is a magnet for dozens of species of butterflies. Can tolerate some drought, but prefer moist, well-drained soil.
