Short-Headed Bracted Sedge or Oval Leaf Sedge, is found mostly in dry deciduous woods with dappled sun, but it will tolerate full sun prairie conditions and near full shade as well. Its soil tolerance is equally as diverse; loam, clay, rocky material, or sand. Like most sedges, it provides food for caterpillars of several butterflies, skippers, and moths.
