Sunflower - Showy (Helianthus pauciflorus)
Known for its vibrant yellow flower blooming from the summertime into the early fall, Showy Sunflower, also commonly called Stiff Sunflower or Prairie Sunflower, makes a great addition to any dry soil and full sun prairie. Enjoys drier settings and full to partial sun exposure. Due to its rhizomatous tendencies, Showy Sunflower can get aggressive in small area plantings which means it may not be a suitable species for smaller home landscape projects.
