Hairy Panic Grass can be found across the United States and beyond into Canada. It is a perennial that prefers light shade to full sun and medium to dry conditions. It can tolerate soils that are loamy, clay-like, rocky, or sandy. The main blooming period for the plant’s minute flowers typically occurs early in the summer for about 1-2 weeks. A second blooming period can occur in the autumn when the plant regenerates itself.
